Your child’s safety is our #1 priority! All staff go through a thorough interview process, including reference checks and background checks. Camps have nurses on-site as well as strong relationships with local emergency responders in the rare case that your child needs medical attention. We follow all standards put forth by the American Camping Association for student-to-counselor ratios, staff qualifications, safety, and more.
At Camp Berea, campers stay in cabins that range in size, with the average number of campers per cabin between eight and 10. We try to room campers with others who are the same age, though we also accommodate roommate requests and church groups as needed. All of our camp weeks are age-specific (e.g. elementary school only, jr/sr high only), so you can rest assured your child will be housed with other campers around the same stage of development.
No one goes hungry at Camp Berea! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included, and we serve plenty of food to keep campers fueled for the day’s adventures. A variety of options are available at every meal, so your child is sure to find something they love! Snacks and frappes are also available for purchase at the camp store.
If your child has allergies or dietary restrictions, there is a place to share this during the registration process, and we work very hard to accommodate these. Our chefs are all ServeSafe certified.
Drop-off is Sunday afternoon and pick-up is Saturday morning.
Camp Berea days are action packed from sunup to sundown! After starting the day at breakfast and morning devotions, campers dive into Quest Time—a rotation of fun and engaging activities like riflery, climbing tower, ropes course, archery, and more. This is a time for campers to try lots of new activities, have fun, and learn new skills.
After lunch, cabin challenges allow students to engage in healthy (and often hilarious) competition with other cabins. Then, campers head down to the waterfront for the blob, swimming, tubing, canoeing, and lots of hangout time.
Every evening offers a unique experience that includes dinner, a big group game, and the highlight of each day: evening chapel. Chapel is filled with energetic worship, dynamic Bible teaching, and challenges for campers to take the next step in their walk with Jesus.
When it’s time for lights out, happily tired campers retreat to their cabin to dream of all the fun they’ve had and rest up for another day of nonstop adventure!
Each day at camp includes group chapel times with worship and Bible teaching, time for small group discussion and application, and dedicated Christian staff members speaking personally into the lives of campers. We welcome and accept campers at every stage of their faith journey. Our camps are highly invitational, encouraging campers to think about God, life’s big questions, and what their next steps of faith might be in the safety of an authentic community.

Camp Berea is a great Christian camp. They offer many activities, including riflery, archery, rock wall, high ropes, giant swing, paintball, slingshots, slip and slide, canoes, and kayaks. My favorite is finger blasters, which is a foam rocket with a rubber band on the front that you launch at each other. Excellent fun! The food there is really great, plus all the staff and volunteers are very friendly and helpful also. We had so much fun we signed up for next year before we left!
