Camp Berea: Deep Freeze

Hebron, NH
January 10 - March 23 (11 sessions)

A non-stop arctic blast, Deep Freeze is jam packed with high-octane adventure and energetic chapel services that encourage students to take their next steps with Jesus. You’ve never had snow much fun.

Camp Monadnock: Encounter

Jaffrey, NH
January 10 - March 9 (8 sessions)

Your place to chill out this winter. With a slower pace and more intimate programming, Camp Monadnock is a chance for students to disconnect from everyday life and connect with God and each other.

Winter camp at Berea Ministries is a catalyst for student ministries and family groups that want to grow together and grow in their faith.

An essential part of any youth group programming, a weekend at winter camp has a snowball effect on the growth of your students.

So, what are you waiting for? Make winter camp part of your annual tradition today!

Is winter camp only for groups?

Yes, winter camp at both Camp Berea and Camp Monadnock is designed around group activities and group bonding. However, we welcome all kinds of groups, from church groups to parent-led small groups.

Do I have to be affiliated with a church to register?

No! Though youth groups/student ministries make up a large percentage of our attendees, we love welcoming parent-led groups as well. If you’re 1) a group 2) of youth, we’re here for you!

Is there a minimum group size?

Nope. We follow Jesus’s definition of “if two or three are gathered.” :) Each group is required to have at least one leader per group, so the smallest group possible is one parent and one student.

Is there a difference between the Deep Freeze and Encounter programming?

Both programs contain the key elements of an unforgettable and life-changing camp: winter fun and games, compelling Gospel teaching and worship, and group bonding. However, each camp has its own personality, designed to reflect the personality of the different groups that attend. Deep Freeze tends to be faster paced and higher energy, while Encounter has more space for relaxation, unscheduled time, and deep connection. You really can’t go wrong with either!

How many chaperones are required for each group?

We require a ratio of 1 leader per 10 students. Groups must have a leader for each accommodation, so if you bring both male and female campers, you must also bring a male and female leader.

What ages can attend winter camp?

Deep Freeze and Encounter are for junior and senior high students (6th-12th grade).

At Camp Berea, we have one weekend called Discover Deep Freeze (March 21-23) for elementary school students.

How long is winter camp?

Winter camp takes place over a weekend, from Friday to Sunday.

What time is arrival and departure?

Groups arrive between 7:00 and 9:00pm on Friday evening and depart Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm.

What are the housing arrangements? Will my group be housed together?

Your group will stay together in camper housing, with at least one leader staying in the cabins with the campers. Housing is cabin or dorm style, with campers sleeping in bunk beds.

Are meals included?

Yes, all meals are included, starting with breakfast on Saturday and going through lunch Sunday (5 meals total). Our chefs are all ServeSafe certified.

How do I register my group?

Fill out a simple form telling us about your group and your estimated number of campers. We require a $25 deposit per estimated camper to hold your spot. Your $25/person deposit also locks in your early bird rate for all group members. Final payment for all students is due upon arrival at camp.

How do my students register?

Once you register your group, we’ll provide you with a registration link to send your students who plan to attend camp. This is where they will fill out health forms, waivers, etc.

We do not collect payment from students when they register. Group leaders are responsible for collecting payment from their group members and paying the balance for all campers in their group upon arrival at camp.
